From The Fram To The Frontend
Wilkes is our Frontend Developer and loves creating something new and user-friendly. He had a moment of realization when he wrote a creative brief for birdseed, which made him re-evaluate his career path in advertising. Luckily he was quick to discover his passion for development, and it's been a joy for him ever since. He loves to build and solve problems in a fast-paced environment, and he's been thriving in it for over two years!
Wild About The Outdoors
Wilkes is a music lover with a diverse taste from reggae to bluegrass, jazz to 70s rock. He's always eager to share his musical knowledge and frequently contributes to the team's #dailylistening channel. When he's not jamming out, Wilkes is an active guy who loves to spend time in the water, whether surfing, diving, or strolling on the beach. He's also a fan of camping, biking, playing pool, and spending time outdoors.
Growing up on a farm, Wilkes' family joked they saw more vets than doctors! The family farm was a beloved destination for local preschool and kindergarten field trips, where visitors could experience an abundance of animals. The menagerie included hundreds of cows, over a hundred goats, donkeys, horses, a pony, peacocks, a llama, dogs, cats, chickens, parakeets, hamsters, fish, and at one point, over 60 rabbits.
Wilkes could never have guessed that his childhood on a farm would come full circle in his career as a developer. But he's happy to see how his background and experiences have helped shape his development skills and bring a unique perspective to his work.
Wilkes' Furry Family
Wilkes' girlfriend encountered a street dog while visiting Mexico in February 2022, and the dog followed her around for several weeks. She brought the dog back to the US and named her Topo Chica, but she goes by Chica. After a DNA test, it was discovered that Chica is half chihuahua and a mix of Pitbull, German Shepherd, Great Dane, and Rat Terrier. Chica is a sweet and goofy dog with a habit of running into or falling off things. She is a happy girl and is always eager to give kisses, with her tail wagging. Chica and Wilkes share a love for the outdoors and enjoy spending time at the beach together.
